I am Moga…and I’m a self-taught artist. I was born in Sibiu/Hermannstadt, in the center of Romania, in 1981, and I had a free childhood.
I have the privilege to live by the forest, where I’m doing most of my work: photography, graphic design,carving…
If photography is for many a hobby, for me it’s my second skin, my playground, my ups and downs, my most personal creative journey, a door to who-knows, a way to read reality…an escape. Then design comes and fills in perfectly and satisfies my structured mind.
It all started back in 2005 when I founded Kogaion Art out of my love for music. That was the moment when the creative journey finally started to take shape and form. But probably it all roots back in early observation, like anything we do, for many of us.
Mountains and generally landscapes had a big impact on my childhood and teenage years, forest sounds and music, human faces, and sensuality too. They all melted and transformed into visuals.
Photography presents another side to me. I needed to walk, so I walked and I am still walking hours a day…in nature to look for great settings, enjoy the view too, feel the rock under my feet, the sky breathing on me. It came naturally to put together nature’s circumstances and human mysterious and intricate beauty in such projects as Artasura, LEMNVIU & The Sensibility of stones.
Photography is for me the best environment for the symbiosis of raw nature and human manifestation within nature.
The mix gives way to new meanings. And that’s my experiment.
6 am over coffee… that’s a good time for me to shape up some new ideas. Some are still haunting me and hopefully will come into being a series, some have done their job and you can find them in the Project area (tab). Have a nice inner journey!
